Description

This class combines our popular Yin yoga with 10-15 minute meditation sessions at the beginning and the end of the Yin practice. Yin yoga is a slow-paced style of Hatha yoga with postures, or asanas, that are held for longer periods of time. For beginners, it may range from one to two minutes. More advanced practitioners may stay in one asana for five minutes or more. Yin poses apply moderate stress to the connective tissues of the body – the tendons, fascia, and ligaments – with the aim of increasing circulation in the joints and improving flexibility. A more meditative approach to yoga, Yin aims at cultivating awareness of inner silence, and bringing to light a universal, interconnecting quality.

Meditation practice is aimed at achieving a state of greater calmness, physical relaxation and psychological balance. During the meditation segments, the teacher will guide you towards focusing your attention and mind, noticing but not engaging with thoughts and developing the practical skills to invite calmness, clarity and power into your life. You will become mindful of your thoughts, feelings and sensations and observe them in a nonjudgmental way. The practice of focusing attention will be combined with breathwork techniques, which aim to eliminate stress, ground you and result in positive physiological changes in your body & life. During class, you will connect with your senses, finding harmony and inspiration in your immediate environment.

The class will allow you to unwind your mind and emerge relaxed and refreshed. It will provide you with new tools for dealing with stress, anxiety and a variety of other problems. Finally, it will also help you overcome negative states of mind, such as anger and jealousy, and cultivate positive thoughts such as patience and love. This class is suitable for all levels of experience. Prepare for a magical journey!
